On January 7, 2011, Self -Realization Fellowship appointed Sri Mrinalini Mata as President and Spiritual Head of SRF/YSS. Born Merna Brown in Wichita, Kansas, Sri Mrinalini Mata (May 8, 1931 – August 3, 2017) was an original disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda. For several decades, she was the editor-in-chief of SRF/YSS publications, responsible for many major SRF publications such as The Bhagavad Gita: God Talks with Arjuna and The Second Coming of Christ ~ The Resurrection of the Christ Within You. From 1966-2010, Sri Mrinalini Mata served as the organization’s Vice President.
The SRF website details Mrinalini Mata’s personal training under Paramahansa Yogananda. According to Sri Daya Mata, “Gurudeva made clear to all of us the role for which he was preparing her, giving her personal instruction in every aspect of his teachings and in his wishes for the preparation and presentation of his writings and talks.” For more biographical information, please visit SRF’s website:
